Wayne Township

Wayne Township is a district with approximately 55,000 residents and 8700 students in fourteen schools in the K-12 district. Although generally a moderate to high performing district, Wayne Township has experienced much instability in the position of Superintendent and noticeable difficulties between the Board of Education and the school community. As an example, the Board of Education has searched unsuccessfully for a Superintendent for three years. During that same period of time, they have had six interim Superintendents. Patterns of instability and organizational dysfunction in the town have a longer past than three years. In June 2011, the Wayne Twp. Board of Education asked West Hudson Associates to conduct the Superintendent Search. Their decision came as a result of their conclusion and reference checks that West Hudson Associates had a track record of finding excellent candidates through an open and inclusive search process.
